Message for Vishwa Shanti(World Peace)
Have we ever asked the question, -
--"Does a river get tired of giving water to thirsty souls?"
--"Does earth ever get tired of people walking over it?"
--"Does fire ever get tired of people cooking over it?"
--"Does air ever get tired of blowing around in the form of wind or people breathing it to sustain their lives?"
--"Does space ever get tired of people using it to create something?".
The answer is "No".
The five elements just keep on giving. Never tiring, always giving. Silence is their very nature in whatever activity they do. They do this activity irrespective of caste, creed, religion - practicing equality to all. They do this activity selflessly without being the
beneficiary of the activity. They emanate a constant peacefulness. Peacefulness is their nature. This is Dharma!
Human mind is restless by nature. It seeks out false sense pleasures in the hope of finding happiness through possessiveness and attachment. This kind of happiness is only momentary and fleeting. A person running mad after money even after losing money in the stock market continues to speculate and gamble seeking wealth. Late night parties weekend after weekend result in momentary sense gratification
at the expense of one's physical, mental and spiritual health. Overeating will result in momentary satisfaction of the palate at the
expense of good health. Greed and desire for more money than necessary results in constant restlessness to achieve it. Cheating and lying
for selfish gain to acquire something easily comes with the consequence of someone else losing out. Persons with such motives are
always restless, fickle, moody running into many self created complex problems in life that result in misery and pain. This pain when
inflicted hard triggers the search back for peace..
We are responsible for our pain and suffering. That is why human beings inherently try to seek out peace and solace in their lives
from birth. A person dejected by life's self inflicted sorrows will always seek peace and solace (in whatever way he can find it) only if he
understands the cause for his restlessness. The wise person is obdurate in maintaining good habits, a life of discipline, controlling
his senses moving towards the state of complete tranquility and peace. The ignorant human being constantly indulges in evil resulting in more and more restlessness. When the suffering reaches a peak, even the most ignorant souls will turn around seeking some peace in their lives. It
is greater to try unsuccessfully to attain the state of complete tranquility by leading a life of disciplining the senses of sight,
hearing, touch, taste, smell than not to try at all. Slowly, but surely, this kind of right stubbornness results in calmer, peaceful,
honest, simple, pure and compassionate lives.
Let us make our individual life peaceful first and then pass the water bowl of peace to others so that others can also taste its tranquility.
Praying for Vishwa Shanti (World Peace).
